Description

Assignment from Ann Hawks of Alveston, widow, administratrix of John Hawks, her late husband, of Alveston, to Thomas Smyth of Preston-on-Stour, for £20 of a lease, dated 14 November 1639, from Thomas Walton of Alveston, yeoman, and William Walton, his son and heir apparent, to the said John Hawks, of a parcel of land containing one ley and two feathers in a close called the Hurst Leys in Alveston, bounded on the west by land late of Ann Wells, widow, part of Tiddington meadow, on the north by a close of Mr Peers and a close of Thomas Townesend, on the east by land of Francis Cale and on the south by the common-fields of Alveston, for 1600 years at a peppercorn rent.
