By the Bailiff and Burgesses of the Borough of Stratford-upon-Avon to William Courte of Stratford, yeoman, of a piece of ground in Chapel Street on which recently stood a Yate house [gatehouse] and parcel of a shop and a parlor, lately in his occupation, but which was burned to the ground, for fourty-one years in consideration of his rebuilding the same. 10 Jan 1595/6
