Attested copy of mortgage from Robert Lawrence of Wappenbury, farmer, eldest son and heir of John Lawrence, late of Eathorpe, yeoman, (nephew and devisee under the will of Robert Lawrence late of Bishops Tachbrook, yeoman) and Mary his wife, to John Whitehead of Barford, mealman, of 10 closes (named) in Leamington Priors containing together 70 acres, with a barn, in the tenure of John Lawrence, son of the said Robert Lawrence; (which property, with the exception of a close called Bancroft, was awarded to John Lawrence, the mortgagor's father, by the Inclosure Commissioners for land which he inherited from his uncle, the said Robert Lawrence) for 1000 years to secure £1000.
