Description

Copy will of the Reverend Francis Gastrell of Overton in Frodsham, co. Chester, clerk, and vicar of Frodsham. Recites marriage articles dated 19 May 1752 in accordance with which he had since laid out £8000 and other considerable sums partly in mortgages and partly in the purchase of freeholds, and devises: To his wife Jane Gastrell all his messuages and lands in Holt, co. Denbigh, Hampton Lucy and Stratford-upon-Avon, co. Warwick, Frodsham, co. Chester, Liverpool, co. Lancs., and St. Marylebone, co. Middx., including all interests under lease or mortgage. To his brother Edward Peregrine Gastrell £100. To his brother's son Edward £500. To his brother's daughter Frances £500. To his niece Elizabeth Hand £500. The residue of his personal estate to his wife Jane Gastrell, whom he appointed sole executrix. Witnesses: John Earl, Jno: Redish, Enoch Davis.
