Description

Gift in frankalmoign from William de Barwe to God and the church of the Blessed Mary of Stanleg' [Stonley] and the monks there serving God of a rent of 6d. in Coventr' namely from the land which William son of Alexander held; to hold the same with the rent of 30d. which formerly was owed to them by Philip the grantor's brother from the same land. Witnesses: Richard de Aula, Adam `Vinitario', Richard Goldsmith (Aurifabro), Alexander Herlewin, Robert de Recham, William le Butter, Herbert Stok', Anketill' son of Robert, Robert de Meleburn', Alexander de Crulfeld' and many others. Seal on tag circular, green. A fleur-de-lys. Legend: SIGILLVM WIL'LI DE BARWE.
