Gift with warranty from William de Holneya, knight, to Robert de Kanneleg', chaplain, of a messuage which Roger le Pottere held of the said William in Asthul and the croft which extends from the said messuage in length as far as the highway (magnam viam), and lies in breadth between the land which Gilbert the carpenter (carpentarius) held and the road which extends next the said messuage, according to the boundaries there; to hold of the said William with the right to sell or assign the same to any except monks, paying annually 18 pence (2 terms), and for this the said Robert gives 4 1/2 marks.
