Description

Assignment with counterpart from John Gregory of Stivichall, esquire, and Loveisgod Gregory, gent., son and heir apparent of the said John, with the consent of John Clarke, alderman and mercer of Coventry, to Segrave Gregory of Stivichall, gent., brother of the said John, of the rent payable under a lease, dated 26 August 1640 [no. DR10/442] from the said John Gregory to the said John Clark of property in Coventry, Asthull and Canley [described in nos. DR10/439-440] for 21 years at an annual rent of £20; to receive the said rent for two and a half years. This assignment is made in consideration that the said Segrave Gregory, at the request of the said John Gregory, has, by writing obligatory of even date, bound himself unto Abraham Boune of Coventry, gent., in the penal sum of £80 to secure the payment of £40 by 23 August following.
