?Draft charter intended to be granted by Queen Elizabeth

Description

Reconstructed upon that of Edward VI, the principal features of which it embodies or recites. Among other clauses may be particularized the establishment of a Recorder in the person of Sir Fulk Greville, a Monday market and a yearly fair on the vigil of the feast of Saint Margaret. A portion of the endorsement has been torn away, but there remains, "To Mr. Jeffereys of Stratford deliver these; much speed."
