Copy of court roll of the court of Thomas [Bourchier] Cardinal and Archbishop of Canterbury, and other feoffees of the manor of Caloughdon, held there on Tuesday after the Exaltation of Holy Cross 11 Edward IV, recording the entry of Agnes, late wife of John Assheby, to a messuage, cottage and nine acres of land in Stychall' which John Assheby lately held and forfeited to the lord because he purchased them from Richard Braitoft and others without permission or surrender according to the custom of the manor; to hold the same to the said Agnes for life, paying customary rent, 40d. heriot when due and fine for entry, with remainder to Thomas son of Agnes, and thereafter to her other children John, Alice, Agnes, Robert and Alice. Witness: Henry Boteler, steward. Seal missing; tongue and tie torn away. Endorsed: i) Lo.
