Copy of an inquest `ad quod Damnum' held at Kenelworth before John de Wyndesore escheator of the King before a jury (named) who state on oath that no damage will be done to the King if he allows John Sparry to assign one messuage and half a virgate of land in Stonleye, and the same John and John de Heckeleye to assign four messuages, two and a half virgates of land, three weirs, four acres of meadow, one and a half acres of wood and 9s. 2d. rent in the same vill to the Abbot and Convent of Stonleye; that the said John and John might also grant to the said abbey other lands in Stonleye and Lockesleye [specified in S.L.B.,p.86] in part satisfaction of the 30 pounds worth of land which lord Edward, father of the present king, granted to the said abbey by his letters patent.
