Description

Quitclaim with warranty from Richard Canley, son and heir of William Canley, formerly a butcher of Coventre to William Deye of Coventre, clerk, and Joan his wife of all his right in a tenement with appurtenances in Styvechale called Mertones Grove and Edmundes Grove with five and a half acres of arable land pertaining to the said grove and all other appurtenances in the vill and fields of Styvechale, which land Edmund Horde and John Merton' late of Styvechale, formerly held for the term of their lives, and which land the said William Deye and Joan his wife lately had by the gift of the said Richard. [Boundaries and field-names as in no. 710]. Witnesses: John Clerk', Richard Huwet, Roger Maynell', John Sergeant, William Sergeant and others. Dated at Styvechale, 24 April, 6 Henry V Seal on tag; oval, red. The letter I crowned between two sprigs of foliage. Endorsed: i) Relaxacio Ricardi Canley filii et heredis Willelmi Canley facta Willelmo Deye et Johanne uxori eius de quadam Grova et quinque acris et dimidia acra terre arabilis in villa et in campis de Styvechale prout plenius patet inferius etc. [contemp.] ii) 6 Hen. 5
