Description

Quitclaim with warranty from Richard Canley, son and heir of William Canley formerly a butcher of Coventre to William Dey of Coventre, clerk, and Joan his wife of all his right in land which he had recently granted to the said William and Joan, namely a tenement with appurtenances in Stevychale called Mertonesgrove and Edmundus Grove with five and a half acres of arable land pertaining to the same in the vill and fields of Stevychale; which property Edmund Horde and John Merton ' late of Styvechale once held for the term of their lives. Witnesses: John Clerk, Richard Huwet, Roger Maynell', John Sergeant', William Sergeant' and others. Dated at Stevychale, 20 April, 6 Henry V Seal on tag; hexagonal, red. Heraldic, indecipherable. Endorsed: i) Relaxacio Ricardi Canley de certis terris et tenementis in Styvechale prout patet inferius etc. [contemp.] ii) 6 Hen 5
