Kingshill in Stoneleigh deeds and papers

Description

Licence in Mortmain to the Abbot of Stonley [Stoneleigh] to receive from Thomas Mallyn of Kyngeshull three messuages, five tofts, one hundred and thirty acres of land, six acres of meadow and four acres of pasture in Kyngeshull and two acres of land in Fynham; and from John Stocton one toft, twelve acres of land and one acre of meadow in Kyngeshull; which lands are worth annually 16 shillings, as certified by an inquisition held by Simon Pelit, escheator of the king in the county of Warwick. Dated at Westminster, 14 February 29 [Henry VI] Great seal on a cord of woven silk; good impression, but incomplete. Endorsed at length by Arthur Gregory, very faded.
