Description

Attested copy of a writ from the crown to the sheriff of Warwickshire to distrain Arthur Gregorye of certain rents of assize issuing out of lands in Kyngeshull, late in the tenure of John Hill, of a messuage and half a virgate in Stoneley late in the tenure of Robert Hall, of a messuage and two closes in Stoneley, late in the tenure of Elizabeth Hobbye, widow, and of one other messuage and all other lands pertaining to it in Stoneley; all which he holds of the crown in free socage and not in chief and which Thomas Gregorye lately acquired by the gift of Henry VIII; and the said Arthur is to appear before the barons of the Exchequer in Trinity Term next to do homage and to show proof of title.
