Description

Lease with warranty from the Abbot and Convent of Stonl' to Stephen de Burthingbur', of a quarter of land which Ralph Koc held from them in Kynggeshull', the headland and butts which they had next to their fish-pond in the said vill, and the property granted to them by the said Stephen, described as in no. DR10/1138; to hold the said premises to the said Stephen, Ralph his son, Elizabeth wife of the said Ralph and John their first born for their lives and the survivor of them rendering annually to the monks 8s. 1d; and the said monks may enlarge the said pool and raise the water there whenever they wish; and should the said headland and butts revert to the monks, the lessees shall be allowed 6 pence in the annual rent. Witnesses: Thomas Boydyn, John de Heyford', Henry de Hockele, John de Fynham, John Champioun of Flechamsted and others. Dated in the feast of St. Clement the Pope and Martyr, 16 Edward II.
