Description

Lease from John Gregorye of Stivechall, gent., to Henry Gamble, Timothy Bartlett and William Lante, all of Kingshill, husbandmen, of a close of pasture in Kingshill called Neate Hill, in the occupation of the said Henry Gamble. Timothy Bartlett and William Lante; to hold the same for 3 years, rendering annually 4 pounds; and the said Henry, Timothy and William may not yield up the said premises to any person, unless they be recovered by process of common law. [See nos. 1667-9]. Dated: 24 October, 19 James I. Signed by the marks of Henry Gamble, Timothy Bartlett and William Lante. Three red seals on tags: i) damaged (probably a fleur de lys) ii) a portcullis flanked by towers iii) a tree between the letters I P Witnesses: George Prescott, James Prescotte, Robert Ratcliffe.
