Letter from Edmund Scarnynge to Arthur Gregory, concerning the repayment of a loan made to the latter by Mr. Alderman Starkey [of Coventry]. As Scarning had been the means of introducing Arthur to him, the Alderman was grievously offended with them both, and threatened to sue his bond. `If you canott paye all, yett discharge the interest, ... yt wyll be the meane to make hym staye his sute...'
