Correspondence - Gregory Family

Description

Letter from Christopher Gregory to his brother, Arthur Gregory, denying a complaint that the latter is his prisoner. He is only a prisoner because he dare not venture abroad, and even if he was a prisoner, he would not be Christopher's but his brother Edmund's, for if there was peace between him and Arthur then `I --- will not further medle with you'. Christopher also regrets that he cannot come down into Warwickshire with money; it would be of no use for him to meet Arthur without Edmund being present, and he cannot send Arthur any money without some other assurance than `your owne bond'. Endorsed: To my welbeloved brother Mr. Arthure Gregory geve thes at Stichall.
