Correspondence - Gregory Family

Description

Letter from Christopher Gregory to his brother, Arthur Gregory, refuting the latter's complaints. He admits he had begun a suit against Arthur, but he only assigned his interest in the bond and the lease of Stichall manor to his brother, Edmund, when he realised that Arthur had no intention of coming to terms. He has since written to Edmund in an attempt to recover the documents, but Edmund has refused to yield them up until all matters in dispute are settled. Christopher declares himself unable to act without Edmund, and suggests a meeting between the three of them. He also urges that each should appoint an arbitrator to settle the dispute. Endorsed: To the w. my brother Mr. Arthure Gregory geve these at Stichall beside Coventry.
