Description

Gift with warranty from John Malyn chaplain, to William Malyn of Tuxforth', John Grene, barber, of Estretforth' and John Fawne of Egmanton' of all the lands and tenements in Tuxford which he had by gift of Richard Stanhop, knight; which lands, etc. lie in diverse parts of the vill and fields of Tuxford as is more fully shown in a certain charter; to hold of the said Richard, paying annually 4s. 3d. and making annually two appearances at the court of the said Richard at Tuxford. Witnesses: John Tuxford of Tuxford, Roger Stedman of the same, Thomas Smyth' of the same, Nicholas Bolo of the same, John Dodyngton' of the same and others. Dated at Tuxford, Sunday next after the feast of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross, 1420. Seal on tag: shield-shaped, red; armorial. A stag's head caboshed with a cross moline between the antlers, in chief the letters PLES? Endorsed: i) Tuxforde [AG] ii) 1. Johannes Malyn ad issu 2. Willelmus Malyn q' ad issu 3.
