Copy of the deposition of Thomas Smith of Stivechall in the case between Simon Chambers, plaintiff, and John Gregory, defendant, that on 17 June last, John Burdett, one of the plaintiff's servants, came and took a white gelding belonging to the defendant from a close in Stichehall called George Close, part of the manor of Stivechall and part of the inheritance of the defendant, which, the deponent believes, is entailed; that at the date of the plaintiff's bill and since that time the defendant was and has been in quiet possession of the said lands.
