Copy taken from the memoranda rolls of the Exchequer, being a writ from Edward IV to the barons of the Exchequer, reciting the charter of Henry VI which established Coventry as a separate county (described in detail in Taunton's `History of Coventry', pp. 93-94), and ordering them to safeguard the corporate privileges therein contained. Dated: 28 October, 7 Edward IV Endorsed: This charter provith Stychall no parcell of Chilesmore unles in parcell which is the Ruydinges somtyme parcel of the manor of Asthull.
