Description

Letter from Simon Chamber to John Gregory, that he has forgotten to bring with him the original lease and the depositions, and asking John Gregory whether he would let him see the counterpart of the lease and copies of the depositions `that thereby I may set downe the state of the case truly'; also informing him that he would endeavour to find someone of equal rank to Mr. Wygstede to join with him [in an arbitration]. Signed: Sy. Chamber Endorsed: To my loveing freind Mr John Gregory of Styvechall Folio l is endorsed with a note from John Wicksteed to John Gregory, that he believes it in order for Chamber to see John Gregory's counterpart and depositions as long as he does not part with the deeds; and stating that he will only accept as a fellow arbitrator one who is determined to put an end to the matter for `I would have him no rangler'.
