Description

Probate copy of the will dated 1 June 1545 of William Billesby. His body to be buried in the church of St. Michael, Coventr', a priest to sing for his soul for one year, for which he is to be paid from the testator's goods. Bequests of 12 pence to each of the servants in his ?mundane house and the rest of his goods, all charges having been paid, to be bestowed by his executors in deeds of charity for the welfare of his soul. Appoints his cousin, Thomas Gregorie, and Sir William Queneborough executors of his will. Witnesses: Robert Walker, priest, John Bosseworthe, Thomas Birt and others. Grant of probate at Coventry on 13 October, 37 Henry VIII. Endorsed: Billesby canonicus Leic' consanguineus noster' [AG] and Latin
