Lease from the Churchwardens of Alveston (William Halford, Alveston, gent., John Mills, Alveston, gent.), Rev. John Lucy Jr., Rector of Hampton Lucy and the Overseers of Alveston (Edward Stanley, Tiddington, gent., and John Tarlton, Alveston, gent.) to Sir Gray Skipwith, Alveston, bart., Major General John Jenkinson, Alveston, William Harding, Alveston, esq., Alexander Duke, Alveston, esq., Rev. Francis F[ortescue] Knottesford, Stoke, Essex; Edward Townsend Higgins, Bridgetown, Alveston, Thomas Hiron, Snitterfield, William Halford, Alveston and John Tarlton aforesaid of 10 cottages built at Alveston by lessees at their own costs, for the renting of same to poor parishioners. Reciting that cottages have been rented to Church Wardens and Overseers for benefit of poor, but that, in order to secure reimbursement to builders they are taking lease of same at 1 shilling p.a.
