Release by way of settlement from John Gardner of Shottery, yeoman (eldest son of Richard Gardner, late of the same, yeoman) to James Stringer of Stratford-upon-Avon, gent., of a messuage with recently erected cow-hovels and other buildings in Shottery, late in the tenure of Richard Gardner and now of John Gardner, bounded on the north east by the public road, on the south west by the brook, on the south east by premises of Richard Greaves and on the north west by premises of Mrs. Johns; to hold the same to the use of John Gardner and Elizabeth his wife, with remainder to their children in equal shares.
