Lucas's Charity

Description

Lease from Charles Ingram etc. (as in DR535/29-30), to Thomas Cresswell of Stratford-upon-Avon, gent., of the west part of a messuage built on the site of the house bequeathed to charitable uses by Thomas Lucas, late in the tenure of the Reverend William Loggin, since of ----- Venour, and now of Richard Baker, gent., bounded on the east by the other part of the said messuage, built on land belonging to the mayor, aldermen and burgesses of Stratford-upon-Avon, and on the west by a messuage belonging to the said Thomas Cresswell in the tenure of Thomas Smith; also a lease from the said mayor, aldermen and burgesses to the said Thomas Cresswell of the east part of the said messuage built on the site of four messuages, and now in the tenure of Richard Baker, bounded on the west by the other part of the said messuage, and on the east by a tenement belonging to and in the tenure of Nathaniel Cook; to hold the same for 41 years, at the annual rent of 20 shillings to the trustees of the charity of Thomas Lucas and 12 shillings to the mayor, aldermen and burgesses of the said borough.
