Probate Copy of Will of Thomas Shakespeare of Hatton, blacksmith - To wife Alice for life his land called Longeridge and after decease to son John subject to certain payments to daughters Mary late wife of John Hancock and Alice later wife of William Tayler - Bequest to son in law John Neal - wife Executrix - Appoints Mr William Shakespeare of Knowle, Mr Simon Mason of Hampton in Arden, and William Avern of Rowington overseers. Witnesses - Edmund Shakespeare, John Weeley, Job Elvins. Proved at Worcester June 2, 1735 by Alice Shakespeare his widow. Endorsed with Receipts dated respectively May 12 1737 and April 3 1737 from John Hancock and William Taylor of Legacies left to their wives, Alice and Mary
