Description

Conveyance by Edward Leigh of Rushall, Staffs., esq., to Hugh Clerk of Lilbourne, Northants., yeoman, and his heirs for ever of the Manor of Newton and also a messuage in Newton then in the tenure of John Smith, all which premises were formerly belonging to the former Monastery of Combe in consideration of £140 paid by John Clerk to Edward Leigh. Appointment by Edward Leigh of John Morden and William Scott as his attornies to deliver seisin of the premises. Signed: Edward Leighe Seal of red wax, no impression. Witnessed by John Goodwyn, Anthony Harcourte, Gabriell Parckhurst, Robert H---- and by the mark of John Johnson Henshewe. Delivery of seisin made in the presence of Gabriell Tanner, Nicholas Collins, Junr., John Greene, John Brinkelowe, John Perkins, Henry Butler and others.
