Bargain and sale from William Clayton and William Hawes of London, gents., to Clement Throckmorton of Claverdon, esq., and Thomas Gryffithe, yeoman, of a piece of land and `foundation' of the water-mill now lying waste in Bericote, late part of the possessions of the dissolved abbey of Stoneleigh, conveyed to them by John Elyotte, citizen and mercer of London and Sigismund Brooke of the same, gent., on 12 November 1556, who had acquired the said premises from the Master and chaplains of the Hospital of the Savoy on 11 November 1556, who had in turn acquired them by letters patent, dated 10 November 1556.
