On p. 105 is an entry for 'Shakespeare's Chair' allegedly purchased in 1847 by George Barker, picture dealer, 'of the old man living in the house (since demolished) adjoining Shakespeare's house, to whom it was given by the old woman many years previously living in Shakespeare's House.'

Enclosed is a letter from J.H.S. Mann (who purchased the chair for Wright at George Barker's sale in August 1878) informing Wright of the above facts; 19 October 1878.

Also formerly enclosed, but now stored in a separate envelope are a collection of miscellaneous cuttings re fine art sales; correspondence re items offered or purchased; receipted bills and lists of items sold to various clients, 1877-1903.
