Description

Lease from Humphrey Ferrers of Tamworthe, esq. to Henry Brunte of Stychall', yeoman, for £36. 13s. 4d., of a messuage with houses, stables, barns, etc. appurtaining, and an orchard, garden, and close with the Poole Yarte Motte and pools, with fishing rights, and two yard lands of arable and pasture land in Stychall', late in the tenure of Richard Gybbes, and now of William Pryce, husbandman; together with the following property in the fields and town of Stychall'; a messuage, orchard, garden and close adjoining, another close called Feyrme close and three quarters of a yard land of arable and meadow, late in the tenure of Thomas Greene, and now of William Bott; also a tenement, orchard, garden, croft and a quarter of a yard land of arable and meadow late in the tenure of Dr. Thomer, and now of Henry Brunt; and a tenement, orchard, garden, croft and a quarter of a yard land of arable and meadow land now in the tenure of John Hathewaye; to hold the same from Michaelmas 1574 for a term of 21 years, rendering annually 59 shillings (2 terms); and the said Henry may lop and crop all trees growing on the said premises at seasonable times, and he is to maintain the said property at his own expense, except for the provision of great timber which the said Humphrey will provide; and should the said Henry die within the said term, then a heriot of the best beast will be paid.
