Description

William Riley, Fort Six Hundred, Ellore [India] to Joseph Low, Kenilworth "afectionate Friend and garduin". Has written to Low as knows mother will not be able to read. "the cause of my leaving my native contry was youth and foley". Is in service of East India Company and has served two years of five year enlistment. Voyage took six months and worst of the place is the great heat. Sends greetings to mother, Mrs. Sharman, Mrs. Nicks, Elizabeth Tims and John Hickin "my old Comrad".
