Marriage Settlement prenuptial: London, Birmingham and Wellington (Shropshire)

Description

A Settlement made previous to the Marriage of William Howlet of London, surgeon and Emma Brown, daughter of William Brown of Birmingham, timber dealer, whereby William Alldritt of Birmingham, librarian, and Edwin Bartleet of Birmingham, surgeon, were appointed Trustees of the sum of £1,000 left to the said Emma Brown by her uncle Joseph Simmonds, deceased, together with certain articles of plate and a painting. To hold and invest the same to the use of the said William and Emma, their heirs and assigns. Schedule of plate and painting. Signed and sealed by the parties. Witness: Thomas Price, clerk to Messrs. Palmer and Sons, solicitors, Birmingham. Endorsement dated 29 September 1843 by Emma Howlet to Messrs. Edwin Bartleet and William Alldritt to pay £300 to her husband William Howlet. [Howlet]
