(died 21 Dec 1854, proved 7 Feb 1855) bequeathing freehold real estate to sister Mary Newland absolutely and property of which trustee and mortgage to Mary Newland, William Warrilow and William Gibbs as trustees and executors. 1857 Abstract of title, 1839-1854, of Mary Newland to a barn and garden in Guild Pits, purchased 29 Dec 1839 by Richard Newland, Stratford-upon-Avon, saddler, from the Trustees of the marriage settlement of William Pitt, Earl Amherst and Mary Countess Amherst (late Countess Dowager of Plymouth) for £415; with schedule, 1769-1839. 13 October 1857 Conveyance by Mary Newland, Stratford-upon-Avon, spinster, to Trustees (Rev. Granville John Granville, Vicar of Stratford-upon-Avon, Rev. Reginald John Hibbert, curate of Stratford-upon-Avon, John Worsey, Clopton and John Shailer, Stratford-upon-Avon, farmers (churchwardens of parish), John Bachelor and John Newland, Stratford-upon-Avon, grocers (churchwardens of borough), William Gibbs, Alveston, farmer and William Warrilow, Stratford-upon-Avon, schoolmaster, of recently erected cottages in Guild Street for the purposes of almshouses to be occupied by poor widows and spinsters of the borough and parish after the deaths of the present occupiers, viz. Thomas Maynoord, Mary Cooper, widow, Elizabeth Calloway, widow and Mary Hewins, widow. Plus £200 consols endowment. 14 Oct 1858 Deed of Covenant by Mary Newland to the Trustees of the Almshouses to produce title deeds.
