Description

Settlement on the marriage of William Hastings of Alveston, yeoman, to Hannah Edwards, spinster, daughter of Avery Edwards the elder of Tiddington in Alveston, yeoman, being a conveyance by lease and release (lease missing) from the said William Hastings to the said Avery Edwards and George Hinde of Tiddington, yeoman, for £150, of a messuage with outbuildings in Alveston, eleven acres of land and two feathers of meadow in Alveston and Tiddington, common of pasture for 5 cows and 10 sheep in Alveston Cow Pasture and other commonable places, and 13 leys of pasture in Alveston Cow Pasture; also one yardland in Alveston, two acres of meadow below Alveston church and one acre in Tiddington Meadow, and 18 leys of pasture in Alveston Cow Pasture with common of pasture for 3 cows and 32 sheep; and a piece of meadow containing one third of an acre in the Town Meadow in Tiddington abutting on the meadow of Thomas Lord on one side and on the meadow ground of Avery Edwards on the south; to hold the same to the use of the said William Hastings for life, with reversion to his wife, the said Hannah Edwards, and after her death to their issue.
