Administrative History The firm of Smith and Unitt [sic] first appears in trade directories in 1924, in Shottery Road. Later directories give three addresses for the firm, 34 Albany Place (later 81 Albany Road), the home of Frank Lovell Unett, 2 Loxley Lane (later Road), the home of Joseph E. Smith and 23 Shottery Road, the yard. These addresses continue until 1945 after which date the only address for the firm is Loxley Road, Unett having retired. The firm continued until the late 1970s, latterly under the name J.E.Smith.
