to [John] Hall [Shakespeare's son-in-law] remonstrating with him for sending an excuse for not coming to see him on the morrow, though dangerously ill `in respect of some private meeting at your Hall concerning the affaires of your Towne' - `It is verie strange to me and unheard off that a Physitian should be incorporated of anie Towne or made a member of anie Corporation, not onlie to interupt his studies, hinder his practice, but also to indaunger the lief of his patient for want of his presence' etc. Bushwood, 5 July 1632.
