Pebworth and Broad Marston, a feoffment

Description

Feoffment from John Moore of Staunton, co. Gloucs., yeoman and Joyce his wife, one of the daughters and co-heirs of Joan Yate, late wife of Gervase Yate of Broad Marston in Pebworth yeoman deceased; Joan Izod the elder of Broad Marston, widow of James Izod, deceased, another daughter and co-heir of Joan Yate; Richard Hunt of the same yeoman and Mary his wife, another daughter and co-heir of Joan Yate; and William Izod of the same yeoman and his younger sister Joan Izod, two of the children of the said Joan Izod the elder, to Anthony Goodwin of Pebworth yeoman.

Whereas Robert Marten late of Pebworth was seised of two closes of land in Broad Marston called Dry Yellowes and Little Yellowes, which after his death were partitioned among his five sisters and their heirs, namely Robert Blake son and heir of Alice Blake deceased, John Ward son and heir of Elizabeth Ward deceased, the said Joan Yate, Margaret Gardner widow and Mary Cooper then wife of Thomas Cooper, and whereas the said Gervase Yate and Joan Yate were allotted the close known as the Yellowes, formerly part of Dry Yellowes, as their one fifth part of the lands of Robert Marten (the other four parts having come in the meantime to Robert Cooper, gent. son and heir of the said Mary Cooper, three by purchase and one by descent) it is now witnessed that in consideration of £87 the grantors convey to the said Anthony Goodwin the said close of pasture called the Yellowes in Broad Marston. Covenant to levy fine.
