Description

Lease dated at London, Sunday after Feast of St. Nicholas, 11 Edward III [1337], from Walter de Cokefeld of Clopton to Robert [de Stratford], Bishop of Chichester, of a meadow in Shotreth on the left of the path leading from Stratford super Avene to Lodyntun, through the middle of the said meadow, together with the reversion of a meadow held of him by tenants for life, to hold the same for his life at the yearly service of a rose on the Feast of St. John the Baptist in exchange for a place in Clopton called the Mote. Witnesses: Master Henry de Cokham, Adam de Stivynton, William de Chiltenham, John de Weston and others.
