Copy probate of the will (27 June 1822) of William Manning Halford, practitioner in Physic: - Interest on £1000 to wife Hannah for life, and newly built cottage at Halford together with household and personal effects. Wife sole executrix. - £500 to son Edward Manning. - £100 to Edward's daughter Sarah Harbert Manning. - House and practice to John Manning but only for life and no right to sell, mortgage or alter. - After death of John, to his father William Manning. - To daughter Caroline, wife of Richard Merry of Craighton, interest on £400 for life then principal among her children. - Trustees John Fisher, farmer, Ettington and Richard Bayliss, butcher of Halford, to see that Hannah receives interest due upon mortgages of 'Alveston Mills' and upon premises at Burford belonging to Thomas Bateman. - Provision for son James Manning to be sole executor if wife predeceases testator.
