Description

Copy settlement on the marriage of the Honourable Andrew Archer, son and heir of Thomas Lord Archer, Baron of Umberslade, to Sarah West, spinster, eldest daughter of James West the elder of Alscot, esquire, being a conveyance by lease and release from the said Thomas Archer to Other Lewis, Earl of Plymouth, and George Lord Lyttleton, for £20,000, of the manors of Tanworth, Umberslade, Monkspath, Fullwood, Codborough, Solihull, Botley, Henley-in-Arden, Claverdon and Birmingham, the capital messuage called Umberslade Hall, and divers messuages, lands and property (described) in Umberslade, Tanworth, Nuthurst, Ullenhall, Wootton Wawen, Solihull, Beaudesert, Widney End, Henley-in-Arden, Aston Cantlow, Packwood, Warwick, Claverdon, Rowington, Hampton-in-Arden and Clifford Chambers, all in Warwickshire, and the manors of Northweald Bassett, Thorpe Hall and Ramsden and messuages, lands and property (described) in Northweald, Southchurch and Ramsden in Essex; to hold the same, as to the property in Warwickshire, to the use of Andrew Archer for life, with remainder to his sons in tail male, subject to the payment of an annuity of £1,200 to his intended wife, should she survive him; and as to the property in Essex, to the use of Thomas Lord Archer for life, with remainder to his son, Andrew Archer and his heirs.
