Probate granted 12 February 1886 of the will (4 August 1883) of John Adkins, Abbots Salford, gent., appointed sons, Henry and John Adkins, and John Slatter, Stratford-upon-Avon, gent., as trustees and executors, bequeathing:- - To his wife [Sarah] and to his daughter, Sarah Ann Adkins: their choice of household goods. - To trustees : £3,800. - Interest on £1900 to wife for life. - Interest on £1900 to daughter for life. Then divide whole between surviving children of daughter Sarah Ann Adkins at 21 (sons) or marriage (daughters) and lawful issue. If no issue of Sarah Ann, then after death of wife, to divide £3,800 equally between sons Henry and John. - To sons: £400 to be divided between them or all to survivor if one predeceases father without issue. - To wife and daughters: all real and personal estate equally. Proved at Birmingham. 18 January 1894. Indenture between Sarah Ann Bullock (nee Adkins), wife of William of Dunnington, Salford Priors, road surveyor and John Adkins the younger, Broom, miller, reciting will of John Adkins the elder; death of Sarah Adkins the widow in 1886; that Sarah Ann Bullock has no children.
