Lease and release: messuage in Leamington Priors with outbuildings and close
Description
Attested copy of Settlement by lease and release being a conveyance from John Lawrence of Leamington Priors, yeoman, (eldest son and heir of John Lawrence, formerly of Elston, Leics, but late of Leamington Priors, yeoman, deceased, and nephew of Robert Lawrence late of Bishop's Tachbrooke, yeoman, himself son of Robert Lawrence late of Leamington Priors, yeoman) and Elizabeth his wife, and Robert Lawrence of Eathorpe, yeoman, eldest son of the said John Lawrence, to Daniel Eyres of Warwick, maltster, of a messuage in Leamington Priors with outbuildings and close, formerly in the tenure of Robert Lawrence the uncle and commonly called Casemores House and Close, since in the tenure of John Lawrence the elder and now of John Lawrence the younger, which property was bequeathed by the said Robert Lawrence to Robert Lawrence, brother of John Lawrence the younger, but he dying in the lifetime of the testator, the property descended to John Lawrence the elder who bequeathed it to John Lawrence the younger; also a piece of land in Leamington Priors received in exchange as in DR26/30 and now laid open to other lands of the said John Lawrence the younger; also a newly erected messuage in Leamington Priors with outbuildings and close in the tenure of William Perkins, purchased by Robert Lawrence, grand-father of the said John Lawrence the younger, from the heirs of Lewis Hobley, deceased, and devised by him to Robert Lawrence his son (uncle of John Lawrence the younger) and devised by him to the said John Lawrence; also a close in Leamington Priors in the tenure of William Perkins purchased by Robert Lawrence, the grand-father, from Thomas Naseby and which had come to John Lawrence the younger as before; to hold the same for the following uses: as to the messuage in the tenure of John Lawrence the younger and the close received in exchange, for the use of John Lawrence for life, and then for his son Robert Lawrence; as to the remainder of the property to the use of the said John Lawrence and then for his second son, Nathaniel Lawrence of Leamington Priors.
