Description

Conveyance from William Hale of Aldington, co. Worcs., labourer, (son and heir of Hugh Hale late of the same, labourer, brother and heir of William Hale late of Stratford-upon-Avon, labourer) and Mary his wife, Henry Newman of Harvington, co. Worcs., labourer, and Elizabeth his wife, Mary Hale of Broadway, co. Worcs., spinster (which said Elizabeth and Mary are the only daughters of the said Hugh Hale) and Thomas Daniel of Bishopton, labourer and Mary his wife (sister and heiress of Sarah Hale late of Stratford-upon-Avon, widow of the said William Hale), to Thomas Cresswell of Stratford-upon-Avon, gentleman, and his trustee, John Hathaway Turbitt of Lower Pillerton, gentleman, (reciting the will of the said William Hale, dated 15 April 1777, whereby he bequeathed to his wife Sarah, for life, his messuage in Bull Lane in Stratford-upon-Avon, wherein he then dwelt, and after her death, half the said messuage to his nearest kin and half to the nearest kin of his wife; and that the said William Hale was seised of another messuage adjoining the last which was not disposed of in his will and which consequently passed to his brother, Hugh Hale, and, after the death of Hugh Hale, intestate, to his son and heir, William Hale of Aldington) for £80 (£47 to William Hale, Elizabeth Newman, Mary Hale and Mary Daniel, for their shares in one of the said messuages, and £33 to William Hale for the other messuage), of a messuage in Butts Lane, alias Bull Lane in Old Stratford, late in the tenure of William Hale, deceased, and Sarah his wife, but now untenanted, and another messuage adjoining, late in the tenure of Samuel Hudson [Hutson] but now of Richard Whatecroft.
