Indenture dated 3 Dec. 16 Elizabeth ( 1573) Dame Alice Leigh, widow of Sir Thomas Leigh kt alderman of London, of the Ist part; Sir John Spencer of Althrop, alias Oldthorp, kt, and Sir Thomas Leigh of Stoneleigh son of Sir Thomas and Alice, of the 2nd part; Sir William Cordell kt, Master of the Rolles, John Southcote Justice of the Pleas, Thomas Bromley Esq, Solicitor General, and Edward Baher of Lincoln's Inn. Esq. of the 3rd part; revoking all uses etc. made by Dame Alice of and in the Manor of Fletchampstede. Seals i. A fesse ermine between six heads (Spencer) ii. P.N. (Leigh). iii. Quarterly I Iv. A chevron ermine between three heads erased. II III A chevron between three lions pasant. Crest A falcon ? rising. iv not signed or impressed. v.A Quartely dancetty a crescent for difference.
