Description

Grant from Henry Toms, Jerome Cale and Charles Marteyne (son of William Marteyn late of Clifford Chambers, husbandman, deceased) to Edward Vernon, clerk, rector of the parish church of Clifford, Chambers, John Toms of Snitterfield, husbandman, and Henry Toms his son, Richard Toms (son of the said Henry Toms senior), John Browne, George Browne and Edward Browne (sons of John Browne of Clifford, husbandman) Charles Aveyne, Thomas Aveyne and Edward Aveyne (sons of Charles Aveyne of Clifford, husbandman), John Curtens and George Curtens (sons of John Curtens of Clifford, husbandman), John Obines, Edward Obines and Henry Obines (sons of John Obines of Clifford, husbandman), Richard Wylkes, John Risshall, Jerome Cale and Henry Cale (sons of Jerome Cale of Clifford, husbandman) of all their lands and messuages in Stratford-on-Avon, of which two messuages lie together in 'le Middell Roe in le Brydge streete' between a tenement of the heirs of Richard Bromley on the East and a tenement of the heirs of Adrian Quyny on the West; and a third tenement lies in 'le Highe streete' in Stratford, between the land of Thomas Whatley on the South and the tenement of a certain Cutte of London on the North, and extends in length from the street to the land of the College on the East side; all which said premises pertained to the feoffees (named) as by a feoffment dated 26 May 37 Henry VIII (ER3/1959).
