Conveyance by lease and release from Dorothy Smith of Stratford-upon-Avon, widow, to John Lane of Stratford-upon-Avon, postmaster, for £430, of two messuages, formerly one, in Henley Street (adjoining to stables, the property of John Payton, belonging to the White Lion Inn) late in the tenures of Joseph Broome and Alice Grant, then of John Payton, then William Irwin, then Sarah Irwin and .... Bache, then Thomas Smith, then Dorothy Smith and now John Lane; being the hereditaments conveyed to Thomas Smith by indentures of 9 and 10 September 1794 and which were devised under the will of Thomas Smith to the said Dorothy Smith. With the following recitals: i) 13 December 1791: will of William Barke of Stratford-upon-Avon, innholder, bequeathing all his property to his wife, Elizabeth, for ever. (cf. DR469/402/11) ii) 14 December 1791: death of William Barke iii) 9 and 10 September 1794: conveyance from Elizabeth Barke to Thomas Smith, gentleman. (cf. DR469/402/12) iv) 17 July 1802: will of Thomas Smith, bequeathing his messuage, formerly two tenements, in Henley Street, in his own occupation, to his wife, Dorothy Smith for ever. (cf.
