Compton Verney: early deeds

Description

Grant by Robert Durvassal, son of John Durvassal of Compton Murdak to John, son of Geoffrey Smith of Compton Murdak, his heirs and assigns, of a messuage with orchard adjoining the 'flowing water' ('acquam fluentem'), with ten acres of arable land in the fields of Compton Murdak.

In the eastern field:
One acre lies at the hornput, part of the land of Gilbert 'le grys';
One rood between le hale part of the lands of Henry Reve;
Half an acre on Smeyefurlong, part of the lands of Henry Reve;
Half an acre called 'maddeshavedlonde' ;
One acre in 'le Banlond' beside the land of Gilbert 'le grys';
One acre in 'le hale', part of the lands of Gilbert 'le erys';
One rood called 'le hanedfryer';
One rood on 'Banlond' beside the land of Henry Reve';
One rood on 'banlond' beside the land of Gilbert Grys and extending to 'lodrycheswey';
One rood beside the land of Gilbert Grys;
One rood on Wadelowe beside the land of a certain Henry son of William.

In the western field:
One acre [in] le Northemede beside the land of Gilbert Grys;
One and a half acres in the Northmede beside the land of Gilbert Grys;
One rood on Ridgefurlong beside the land of Gilbert Grys;
One acre above Banlond beside the ''Waterforen';
One acre above upper furlong beside the land of Gilbert Grys and one acre on the Hanging land exteniding to Stonelmore beside the land of Gilbert Grys.

To hold to the said John and is heirs paying to Robert and his heirs and assigns 12d annually at Easter in lieu of all services.
