Compton Verney: early deeds, Compton [?], a grant

Description

Grant by Sir Thomas Murdak, lord of Compton Murdak to John Jones of Compton Murdak, chaplain, of one messuage and curtilage, with adjoining croft containing six selions, with appurtenances, which messuage and croft were lately held of the grantor by William Taillour; also two acres of arable land, of the lands of William Harris and ten acres of arable land of the land formerly John Hamels.

Of which demised land:
four and a half acres lie in Longenorslade beside the lands of Richard Cole, half an acre in Le Combes beside the land the said Richard;
half an acre lies on Sefenaker beside the lands of William Monck;
half an acre on Undurballond beside the land of William Hanek;
half an acre on Ruchfurlong beside the land of William Lucas;
half an acre lies 'intefoss' beside Waterfurow beside the land of William Felwen;
half an acre in Scrottenormede beside the land of William Lucas;
half an acre on Forewardemadewelle beside the land of William Monck;
half an acre in hoferenorslade beside the land of William Felwen;
half an acre in Longemadewelle beside the land of William Monck and one selion in Mustewe beside the land of John Cook.

And in the other field:
half an acre lies in Brodehardereslade beside the land of Richard Bole, half an acre lies against Alderesladehulle, beside the land of the said Richard;
half an acre lies in holdelande beside the land of William Monck;
half an acre lies in the same ploughland beside the fields of Chadshunt;
half an acre lies at Horepuet beside the land of William Monck;
half an acre lies in Schorehale beside the land of John Wel;
half an acre lies in scortecrofte beside the land of William Monck;
half an acre lies on Rou/nborow beside the land of William Felwen;
half an acre lies on Schortenaker beside the land of Robert Page;
half an acre lies over Hardurslade Hulle beside the land of William Lucas;
half an acre lies Biforeballond beside William Felwen;
half an acre lies in Longellrdurslade beside the lands of John Cook;

and various selions in Longehale beside the land of William Lucas in the fields of Compton Murdak Also grants to the said John, pasture for one cow wherever the grantor's cattle graze, to be watched by the grantor's cowherd.
